Description
The CBI 50 A 1P 3 kA Samite Mini Circuit Breaker is a high-capacity, single-pole protection device engineered for robust single-phase electrical installations. Designed to deliver reliable overload and short-circuit protection, this breaker is ideal for heavier-duty socket circuits, power outlets for large appliances, sub-circuits or general-purpose wiring where a 50 A supply line is needed.
With a 50 A rated current and 3 kA breaking capacity, the breaker safely interrupts dangerous fault currents — protecting wiring and connected devices from damage or fire risk. The C-curve hydraulic-magnetic / thermal-magnetic trip characteristic provides balanced performance, ensuring reliable protection while tolerating normal inrush currents from appliances, tools, or heavy loads.
-
Type: Miniature Circuit Breaker (MCB), Single-Pole (1P)
-
Rated Current (In): 50 Amps — designed for high-current single-phase circuits, heavier socket/ power-outlet circuits, and general-purpose load circuits needing 50 A protection.
-
Breaking Capacity (Icu / Ics): 3 kA — able to safely interrupt overloads or short-circuit fault currents up to 3000 A.
-
Voltage Rating / Supply: 220–240 V AC (single-phase) — compatible with standard residential or commercial mains supply.
-
Trip Curve / Characteristic: C-curve (hydraulic-magnetic / thermal-magnetic) — standard “Curve 3 / C-C” characteristic for general-purpose circuits, offering balanced protection and tolerance for inrush / startup currents.
-
Mounting / Form Factor: Samite / Mini-rail mount — ultra-compact module with ~13 mm width, suitable for Samite-rail / mini-rail distribution boards or consumer units.
-
Poles / Configuration: Single-pole (1P) — protects one live conductor; used for single-phase circuits (sockets, power outlets, sub-circuits, etc.)
-
Protection Provided: Overload protection & short-circuit protection — safeguards wiring and connected devices/appliances from faults, surges or overload conditions.
-
Compliance / Standards: Compliant with applicable standards (e.g. VC 8036 / SANS 556-1 / IEC/EN 60947-2 for low-voltage MCBs) — ensuring safety and regulatory compliance for residential and light-commercial installations
